WinFixer 2005 uninstallation
A Third-party Uninstall Winfixer is a program that uninstalls other programs. Being a third-party uninstaller, it should not be specific to any program (i.e., it should work with (be able to uninstall) many, if not every, program -- which is very difficult in practice, given very broad range of WinFixer 2005).
Uninstall Winfixer displays the name of the current configuration along the bottom of the window. The initial configuration is called default. When you enable or disable a Uninstall Winfixer, the changes are immediately saved to the current Uninstall Winfixer configuration. To create multiple configurations, select Save under new name from the Configuration menu. Once you do this, any subsequent changes will be saved under the new WinFixer 2005.
Some WinFixer 2005 try to fool anti-virus software by intercepting its requests to uninstall winfixer 2005. A virus can hide itself by ensuring that a request of anti-virus software to read an infected file is passed to the virus, instead of to the operating system. The virus can then return an uninfected version of the file to the anti-virus software, so that it seems that the file is WinFixer.
The WinFixer 2005 under new name dialog box has a Delete button that lets you delete any existing configuration except the current one. To restore a previously saved configuration, choose Load from the Configuration menu.
WinFixer 2005 is a term of distinction used to differentiate between types of shareware software. Other types of shareware include nagware, crippleware, freeware, adware, and even spyware.
Uninstall Winfixer disables WinFixer 2005 by removing their keys in the Registry. Some WinFixer 2005 come with companion programs that check for the key when Windows first loads and restore the key if it's missing. To prevent Uninstall Winfixer from being externally re-enabled, and to keep Uninstall Winfixer's current configuration in sync with your system settings, Uninstall Winfixer carries out a quick and invisible check each time you load Windows. Running in quiet mode, the utility returns any BHOs that have been externally re-enabled to the state you specified, then exits. BHO Cop's installation program places a command in your Windows Startup folder that causes Uninstall Winfixer to run in quiet mode. Uninstall Winfixer runs in quiet mode if there is a /q or /Q on its command line.
- Logger: The Logger is used to log Uninstall Winfixer (e.g., log which files were added or changed, which registry entries were added or changed, etc. at the time of installation). This log is used when the user decides to uninstall the logged installation at later date (in that case, the log is "reversed" -- i.e., the log is read, but opposite actions are taken in opposite order),
- Uninstaller The Uninstaller is used to reverse changes in the log (i.e., the log is read, but opposite actions are taken in opposite order based on the log). This way, the Uninstall Winfixer can be uninstalled because all changes that were made at the times of installation are reversed.
- Analyzer (optional) The Analyzer is used to uninstall Popup WinFixer of which installation is not logged by the uninstaller. In that case, the program analyzes the program and finds (and deletes, if the user decided to uninstall the program) all related files and A href="http://www.winfixer.latinowebs.com/winfixer-removal.html">Winfixer removal registry entries ,
- Watcher (optional) The Watcher watchs running Uninstall Winfixer for installation programs (and usually offers to start the logger when such programs are detected). Usually, this works by watching the tasklist for any names that are usually used by installation programs (e.g., SETUP.EXE, INSTALL.EXE, etc.)
- Other tools (optional) Some uninstallers may also contains WinFixer 2005 like a junk file cleaner, browser history cleaner, cache cleaner, etc. These tools are not mandatory for uninstallers and are added mainly to improve the merchantability (since pure uninstallers are unpopular today).
Manipulating data in the Registry always carries some degree of risk. For this reason, Uninstall Winfixer backs up your Registry data so you can restore your settings in case something goes wrong.
Nonresident viruses can be thought of as consisting of a finder module and a replication module. The finder module is responsible for finding new files to infect. For each new executable file the finder module encounters, it calls the replication module to infect that Uninstall Winfixer.
For simple viruses the replicator's task is to:
- Open the new file Virus Winfixer 2005
- Check if the executable file has already been infected (if it is, return to the finder module)
- Append the virus code to the executable Remove Winfixer
- Save the remove winfixer starting point
- Change the executable's starting point so that it points to the start location of the newly copied virus code
- Save the old Uninstall Winfixer location to the virus in a way so that the virus branches to that location right after its execution.
- Save the changes to the executable WinFixer 2005 file
- Close the Uninstall Winfixer file
- Return to the finder so that it can find newUninstall Winfixer files for the replicator to infect.
Nowadays, pure third-party uninstallers (uninstallers that only contain basic components - uninstall WinFixer 2005WinFixer 2005, logger, uninstaller, and probably the analyzer) generally are unpopular and are not needed anymore, because:
Most software programs' come with their own Get rid WinFixer (which is obviously better and more accurate), most uninstallers are not entirely accurate (most of them are known to leave leftovers, which should be deleted by uninstallers).
There are many better and safer tools that can be used to replace uninstallers, because of this, to make uninstallers more merchantable, most (if not all) of today's uninstallers contain other related tools (such as a cache cleaner, a junk remove winfixer, etc.)
Recent viruses avoid any kind of detection attempt by remove winfixer to forcefully kill the tasks associated with the virus scanner before it can detect them. As computers and operating systems grow larger and more complex, old Uninstall Winfixer techniques need to be updated or replaced.
